Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon processor receives a ‘Plus’ version this year. If this improvement is anything to go by, this year’s ‘+’ variations will be a significant deal. Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing node is to produce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Although this chipset is an excellent processor, there have been reports that Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing method may blame some of the chipset’s quirks. As a result, Qualcomm will use TSMC for the next chipset, a change from the previous strategy.

Recent reports from OnSiteGo quoting tipster Yogesh Brar say Qualcomm might unveil the snapdragon Gen 1+ chipset (SM8475) in early May. The ‘+’ generation of the chipset, according to the rumour, would use TSMC’s 4nm production technology.

As an interesting tidbit, TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing node was used to build the A15 Bionic. In the eyes of several industry analysts, TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing method is more efficient than Samsung’s 4nm process node.
The first batch of chipset smartphones will get public by Lenovo, Motorola, Xiaomi, and OnePlus.
According to the report, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ has already been on test by smartphone makers. In June, Lenovo, Motorola, OnePlus will release the first batch of chipset smartphones and Xiaomi. As of today, the new chipset is to be there in Motorola Moto Frontier 5G, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and OnePlus 10 Ultra in early 2022.

According to reports, Qualcomm is also to be introducing new Snapdragon 7 series chipsets simultaneously. However, Qualcomm has already sent the chips to OEMs, so we don’t know anything about them. As a result, we anticipate seeing these new chipsets appear in various certifications soon.
