Xiaomi is working on launching the Redmi K50 series in China very soon in February. The latest information suggests that the company will push out the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered RedmiK50 first while the Dimensity 9000-powered model will follow later. These new developments come in the light of the Chinese New Year according to their Lunar calendar. Most Chinese brands have scheduled launches and events lined up in a fashion to celebrate the auspicious occasion. Xiaomi unsurprisingly will be part of these events and will be unveiling the much-anticipated R series. Read to know more:
The Redmi K50 series will consist of four models and benefit from AMOLED high refresh display panels, new-gen processors, multi-camera setups and fast charging support. According to Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing, the company has planned to launch the K50 devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm. The Dimensity 9000 powered variants of the K50 will follow later. The exact reason for the distribution of the launch is however unknown.

One could also quickly discover that the Redmi K50 lineup might consist of multiple models. So far it has been speculated to come with various processing units. The likes of which are – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Dimensity 9000, the Dimensity 8000, the Dimensity 7000 and the Snapdragon 870.
Redmi K50 Series: Specifications (Expected)
The series might consist of – the K50, RedmiK50 Pro, RedmiK50 Pro+ and K50 Gaming Edition. The K50 Pro+ might feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. While the K50 Pro might get the Dimensity 9000 SoC from MediaTek or the Snapdragon 870 SoC from Qualcomm. The Dimensity 9000 SoC might also make a place in the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. Lastly, the vanilla K50 maybe feature either the Dimensity 8000 or the Dimensity 7000.

The Redmi K50 series is expecting to come with MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Lower-end models will get a 50W/67W fast charging support. While the higher and more expensive models will benefit from a 120W fast charging support. The device is expecting to get a 108-megapixel main camera sensor accompanied by other sensors. The K50 Pro can launch as a rebadged POCO.
