Redmi K50 Tipped To Feature 100W fast charging, IP68 rating

The rumoured Redmi K50 is speculated to come with 100 W fast charging and IP68 certification. A recent report released that the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is preparing to launch a Redmi K40 or Mi 11X successor. It is tipped to be called the K50. The recent leak provides smartphone users with a clearer insight into the improvements in K50 over its predecessor, Redmi K40 or Mi 11X.

Redmi K50 Specs

The Redmi K50, confirmed in a recent leak, will come with 100 W fast charging. In comparison, the Redmi K40, currently available in the market, supports only up to 67 W fast charging. This is momentous as it is for the very first time the Redmi devices in this range will hit triple-digit charging speeds. Earlier this capability was only reserved for some specific higher-end Mi and Black Shark devices, which can charge at a whopping 120 W.

The Redmi K50 will be IP68 certified with dust and water resistance, which is a major improvement from the predecessor. The k40 had a basic splash and dust resistance rating of IP53. The smartphone is also expected to feature symmetrical stereo speakers. This will provide a more balanced sound.

Further leaks also suggest the device featuring a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120 Hz OLED display. The Redmi K50 will also be powered by Snapdragon 870. A fresh set of information reveals that there will be three models under the K50. The First will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC, the second could be powered by the current best Snapdragon 888 chipset and lastly, the final one powered by Snapdragon 870 chip.

While it is a mystery as to which model will feature the fast-charging solution. It is highly probable that it will be the top-spec model. It is also likely to benefit from a 108 MP main camera unit while the rest will settle for a 48 MP sensor. The Redmi K50 will go on sale in China and then will be launched in other markets.
