Realme GT Explorer Edition Will Not Launch in India, Realme Executive Confirms

Realme GT Explorer Edition is likely not coming to India. Francis Wong, CMO of Realme India, revealed this earlier today on Twitter. The company executive accidentally confirmed the news when responding to a user query regarding the launch date of the same. To recall, Realme launched the Explorer Edition alongside the Realme GT Master Edition last month in China. However, only the latter has launched in India last week. Moreover, the information has caused disappointment among followers of the brand.

Although the executive adds that “But we have some Greater Things Prepared,” in his tweet, the tweet is now not available. The marketing chief did not share plans of what the company is planning. However, people who are awaiting the launch of Realme GT Explorer Edition will be disappointed.

Now, the reason for the decision to not launch the Realme GT Explorer Edition might be the rumoured OnePlus 9RT. As we know, the latter is rumoured to launch later in October. Moreover, quite a lot of its supposed specifications have surfaced online. According to those, it looks like they both have almost the same specs except the design of Explorer Edition. Additionally, when or if it launches, the phone will fill up the space between premium flagships and the affordable segment of the brand itself.

To recall, it comes with a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. In addition, it comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Furthermore, Realme GT Master Explorer Edition comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 shooter, and a macro shooter. Upfront, there is a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 sensor for selfies and video calls.

It packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The phone also comes with vapor chamber cooling, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio support. There is a 4D tactile engine for improved vibrations and NFC connectivity. The phone is 8mm thick and weighs 183 grams.
