Realme GT 2 series is arriving in China on December 20, 2021. With its’ intention to challenge the likes of Samsung and Apple in the premium segment. This series might include two models – the vanilla variant Realme GT2 and Realme GT2 Pro. Meanwhile, the company has already confirmed to feature the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Other leaks have also hinted that the phones will have premium features including an under-display selfie camera. Let’s take a look at some of the details of the launch:

The launch event is taking place in China at around 12:30 pm (IST). You can tune in to the livestream on the company’s official Weibo page. On the other hand, you can watch it through the video player embedded below.

Realme GT2 Series: What to Expect

In terms of pricing, the phone’s price has leaked numerous times. According to leaks, it may come with a price tag of EUR 799, which roughly translates to Rs. 60,000. However, one can expect it to be available in different memory configurations. Whereas, for the vanilla variant there is no information available about the pricing.

Meanwhile, specifications-wise, Realme GT 2 Pro will power on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The smartphone may have a 6.8-inch WQHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also includes a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Realme GT2 Pro can also have up to 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 512GB storage. It may also include a 150-degree ultra-wide shooter. Moreover, it may be the first smartphone from Realme to feature 125W UltraDart charging technology. Lastly, the Realme GT 2 Pro might run Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 on top.

Realme has also confirmed that the upcoming flagship smartphone will come with a new paper-like design. The company has partnered with Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa to opt for an environmentally friendly design for its upcoming flagship. Realme says that it will be using the world’s first bio-based material. The new material will be as durable as traditional materials used in smartphones.
