vivo is preparing a series of camera improvements for OriginOS 7, but not every vivo and iQOO smartphone will receive the new features at the same time. The rollout is scheduled to begin on October 29, 2026, with new camera colour styles arriving first on select vivo X300 and X200 series phones.

The update will introduce six camera colour styles, a redesigned camera interface, new album editing tools and a feature that lets users share custom colour palettes. According to the reported schedule, the rollout will continue through November and December, with some iQOO and older vivo models receiving features later than the latest X series phones.

The biggest difference is the rollout timing. Select vivo X300 and X200 series phones are scheduled to receive the new camera colour styles first, while the iQOO 15 series and iQOO 13 are expected to get them in late December.

    OriginOS 7 Camera Update

Six New Camera Colour Styles Are Coming First

The first major change arrives on October 29, when the vivo X300 Pro, X300 and X200 series are scheduled to receive six new camera colour styles.

These include Chasing Light, Rich and Cool White, along with Street, Portrait and Life. The styles are designed to give users more options for adjusting the look of their photos without having to edit every image manually.

The iQOO 15 series, iQOO 13 and vivo X Fold5 are expected to receive the same colour styles later, in late December.

Redesigned Camera App Brings More Customisation

The redesigned camera interface is scheduled to arrive in the second week of November for the vivo X300 series, including the vivo X300 Ultra, and the iQOO 15 series.

The new interface will let users customise the camera's opening screen and access a new toolbox panel. The changes are also expected to bring the vivo and iQOO camera experiences closer together.

However, owners of the vivo X200 series and iQOO 13 will have to wait until mid-December for the redesigned interface.

The third week of November is also expected to bring album editing improvements, including batch watermark removal and a tool to straighten photos.

Custom Camera Palette Sharing Arrives in December

The final major camera feature in the reported schedule is custom colour palette sharing, expected in late December.

This tool will let users share a customised camera look and save it as a new style. It is scheduled for the vivo X300 and vivo X200 series, iQOO 15 series, iQOO 13 and vivo X Fold5.

This could be useful for users who want to maintain a consistent look across their photos or reuse a preferred colour style.

Will OriginOS 7 Improve Camera Quality?

The new features focus mainly on software, interface customisation and photo editing. They will not change a phone's camera sensor, lens or underlying hardware.

That means users may get more ways to customise colours and edit photos, but they should not expect the update alone to deliver the same camera performance as a newer smartphone.

The staggered rollout may also disappoint some owners of older devices, particularly those waiting for the redesigned camera app. In addition, the reported dates relate to the China rollout, and a separate schedule may apply to global versions.

OriginOS 7 Camera Update: What Users Should Know

    • vivo X300 and X200 users get the first colour styles: The rollout is scheduled to begin on October 29.
    • iQOO users will receive some camera features later: The iQOO 15 series is expected to get the redesigned camera app before the iQOO 13.
    • The update focuses on software improvements: New colour styles and editing tools add flexibility, but they do not upgrade the phone's camera hardware.
