Moto Edge X30 Under-Screen Camera Teased; Launch Soon

Motorola has released the Moto Edge X30, its latest flagship smartphone for the Chinese market last month. Moreover, reports suggest that the smartphone is preparing to expand into other markets. But a fresh leak hints that the company is planning to bring a new variant of the smartphone in the Chinese market soon. To recall, it launches as the world’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

According to the leak, the new variant of the Moto Edge X30 will have an under-screen camera. Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo’s China Mobile Phone Business, has teased an image that suggests the launch of the device. The image shows a retail box of an upcoming smartphone which is a special edition for the Edge X30. Let’s take a look at the specifications, features and other details:

Moto Edge X30 Under-Screen Camera Variant Teased

The company could soon launch this smartphone with an under-screen camera. The company’s senior executive has teased an image, hinting at an imminent launch. To recall, Motorola launched the vanilla X30 last year with a hole-punch display. Furthermore, the upcoming under-screen camera variant was also teased at the event.

Although the image showing the retail box does not reveal any details. But, the device is expected to feature the same 60-megapixel selfie camera under the display panel. Other specifications of the smartphone are likely to remain the same as well. Let’s take a look at the specs of the X30 here:

The Moto Edge X30 has a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a high 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 700 nits. It will also support 10-bit colours as well as HDR10+ video. The Moto Edge X30 will be distinguished by its processor and optics. As previously stated, the X30 is the world’s first smartphone to use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The smartphone is likely to have 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage in addition to the flagship processor.

Coming to optics, the Moto Edge X30 offers a triple rear camera setup packed by a 50-megapixel OmniVision’s OV50A40 primary sensor. There is also a 50-megapixel wide-angle shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the Motorola phone has a 60-megapixel camera at the front. Moto Edge X30 connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port. Moreover, the phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. There’s a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W TurboPower fast charging.
