MediaTek officially announces the launch of Dimensoty 9400 chipset, which is company’s first second-generation 3nm chipset. The chipset is built on TSMC’s 3nm process, which ensures more efficiency and power along with upgraded focus on generative AI. Dimensity 9400 Launch: What We Are Getting
MediaTek claims that the Dimensity 9400 chipset is up to 40percent more efficient than Dimensity 9300. Moreover, the latest chip supports LPDDR5X memory, thus offering a very high bandwidth.

The Dimensity 9400 is made of 1Coretx-X925, 3 Cortex-X4 cores, and 4 Coretx-A720 cores. All this cortex is packed in one chipset built on 3nm process. This latest chipset offers great performance, 35% faster single-thread performance and 28% faster multi-thread performance. Moreover, the launch of Dimensity 9400 brings an 8th iteration NPU and Immortalis-G925 GPU. Very high expectations are set with this new chipset. The company also announced the chipset will provide support for Google’s Gemini Nano. Thus, ensuring a stronger AI generation on Android.

MediaTek is also bringing AI Agentic Engine, i.e. an AI framework which will make tasks easier. This chipset is capable of 8K 60fps 10-bit video with full-range HDR zoom. It can also power WQHD+ display with up to 180Hz refresh rate. The company is expecting this chipset to enter the foldable segment. Last but not the least, the Dimensity 9400 launches with a refreshed 5G modem with up to 7GB/s performance.
