Apple has revealed the official repair prices for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in India. The company’s repair charges are drawing attention because replacing the inner foldable display costs Rs 1,49,900 without warranty coverage or AppleCare+. This is nearly half the phone’s starting price of Rs 2,99,900.
The newly announced Apple iPhone Duo repair cost highlights how expensive it could be to maintain a premium foldable smartphone. While AppleCare+ offers lower repair charges, buyers will need to consider the additional cost of protection before purchasing the device.
iPhone Duo Repair Cost: Display Replaement And Other Charges
Apple has listed different prices for repairing the iPhone Duo’s display, camera, battery and body. The inner screen carries the highest replacement cost, while major damage can cost even more.
Here are the official repair prices mentioned for India:
- Inner foldable display: Rs 1,49,900
- Outer display: Rs 42,900
- Outer display and back glass: Rs 55,900
- Rear camera: Rs 26,900
- Battery replacement: Rs 24,900
- Back glass replacement: Rs 20,900
- Cover layer replacement: Rs 5,900
- Other damage: Rs 2,24,900

The Rs 2,24,900 charge for other damage is particularly significant, as it represents around 75% of the phone’s starting price. These charges apply to eligible out of warranty repairs without AppleCare+.
For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 reportedly has a main screen assembly replacement price of around Rs 54,130. A component level repair costs approximately Rs 35,490, while its back glass and battery are listed at around Rs 2,300 each.
AppleCare+ Makes iPhone Duo Repairs Cheaper
AppleCare+ can significantly reduce repair expenses for iPhone Duo owners. However, customers must pay Rs 51,900 for the protection plan, in addition to the smartphone’s purchase price.
Under AppleCare+, the inner display repair costs Rs 8,900, while repairs involving the outer display or back glass cost Rs 2,500 each. Cover layer replacement costs Rs 1,900, and battery service is free under the stated plan terms.
Buyers purchasing the iPhone Duo, AppleCare+ and an official Apple case could spend approximately Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 3.6 lakh in total. AppleCare+ also has service fees and does not cover theft or loss.
