As per the survey, the cost to manufacture the Pro Max version is only $485 (roughly Rs 40,720). This is nearly one-third the price tag it has.

It is said that the camera and the display of this smartphone are the most expensive components. The back camera setup itself costs 16% of the total manufacturing cost of the model. Also, the display panel and touchscreen price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max are the same.
The powerful A18 Pro chipset costs on $5 (roughly Rs 420) more than the A17 Pro chipset. The cost of memory and storage is also $5 more, each. Other enhancements and improvements on Pro Max are a larger battery.
On comparing all other aspects, the handsets of iPhone 16 series comes with a new Capture button, which is an extra $3, and other costs include upgrades to Wi-Fi 7. Apple Intelligence is a software-based selling point for the iPhone 16 series. Thus, this shows why the price of iPhone 16 Pro Max is one-third of its manufacturing cost.
