While we are waiting for the release of the newest and finest iPhone range, the iPhone 14 series, on September 7. A rumour claims the Apple iPhone 15 Pro will be the most rugged smartphone in 2023.
This assertion follows comments made by TSMC executives on the impending high-volume launch of the next-generation 3nm mobile CPU. But until 2024, the improved N3E version of the processor won’t be available. Except outside of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models, according to Digitimes.
“N3E will significantly extend our N3 family with increased performance, power, and yield,” said TSMC’s CEO during the Q2 results call. At N3E, we saw active customer participation, and volume manufacturing is planned for about a year after N3.
Between November 15 and November 17, Qualcomm will have its 2022 Snapdragon Summit. During which the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is most likely to make its debut.
This newest Snapdragon processor won’t be produced using a 3nm technology but a 4nm one. As a result, Qualcomm’s 3nm chip won’t be released until Snapdragon Gen 3 in 2024.

What Else?
At the end of 2023, MediaTek will introduce a 3nm chipset built by TSMC. Leaving Apple as the only company having a 3nm chip. It will likely be an A17 chip at the heart of its phones.
According to the research, “Apple is TSMC’s primary 3nm process production customer in 2023, and the foundry is likely to fill significant 3nm chip orders for a variety of customers in 2024.”
The iPhone 15 Pro will outperform its Pro Max sister in benchmarks since it will have fewer pixels to power. And using a 3nm processor than the bigger Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max screen. Thus making it the most powerful smartphone in 2023.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro (Expected Specs)
- 3nm Apple A17 processor
- 48MP main camera

Apple may only equip the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro with a 3nm Apple A17 processor. Because next year rumours suggest that the iPhone 14 series will go on a processor fragmentation spree. That is with 5nm A15 for the Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Max. And 4nm A16 for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.
