On Thursday, the e-commerce major announced that Amazon Alexa has completed five years in India. Let us tell you that Alexa is one of the popular virtual assistants in India. On the occasion of its 5th-anniversary celebration, Amazon has announced that users in India will be able to use Alexa in the new male voice. Let’s know about it.

“Over the past five years, we have aimed to build Alexa from India and for India, and I truly believe that our journey is synonymous with the evolution of ambient computing in the country. As we look ahead, our focus remains on bringing to life newer voice, touch, motion and vison-enabled experiences for consuming entertainment, completing tasks, and accessing information”, Dilip RS, Country Manager for Alexa, Amazon India, said in a statement.

Indian users will be able to switch between Alexa’s original voice and a new voice for the first time. Yes, Amazon said on Thursday that its virtual assistant has completed five years in India. Marking this achievement, the company has added a new male voice to Alexa. So, now your virtual assistant Alexa will talk in a masculine voice. Explain that the new voice can respond in both English and Hindi languages.

How To Change It?

Users can change Alexa’s voice by saying ‘Alexa, change your voice’ on an Echo device. Also, by selecting Alexa’s voice from the Alexa app in individual device settings. Customers can use any wake word including Alexa, Echo, Computer and Amazon to ask questions in English, Hindi and Hinglish.

Amazon has announced that it will be offering great deals and discounts on Alexa-powered devices from March 2 to March 4. The company has also announced that it will reveal deals and offers on smart home gadgets and Alexa built-in devices such as boAt, Noise, Philips, and Syska on March 2.

“In 2022, requests to Alexa on Echo Smart speakers, Amazon Shopping App, Fire TV and many Alexa-enabled devices by other brands increased by 37 per cent versus 2021 – making it a household name across the country. Maximum new customers started their Alexa journey on the Amazon Shopping App leading to over 55 per cent increase in monthly active users year on year,” it said.
