Other than that, the phone is quite rigid as twisting it does not produce any cracking sound. Even the display is quite strong since it does not deform when pressure is applied to it. At 178g, it can be quite heavy, though it remains slim at 7.9mm. It is comfortable to hold and control and does not sit in the palms uncomfortably. It also supports dual SIM. The only problem is that this phone does not come with a fingerprint sensor which is disappointing, as budget phones have implemented fingerprint sensors in their handset for a long time now.

Samsung Galaxy J4+ comes with a 6-inch IPS panel with 1480×720 resolution. It arrives with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 and an average brightness of about 548.9 cd/m2. The colours are quite bright and accurate. The viewing angles are quite good without causing any distortion, even in hard angles. However, while the display is bright, it can create visibility issues in harsh sunlight.

However, the phone is still quite happy and can perform multitasking without lagging. While web browsing, it loaded websites quickly, though online gaming was sluggish. The phone is fitted with Adreno 308 GPU, which can run most modern games smoothly when they are set in medium or low graphics.

The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has a 13MPrear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and can capture photos up to 4128×3096 resolution. In daylight, the pictures are quite vibrant and produce bright colours. However, the finer details are lost even in good conditions, and due to the algorithms, objects get oversharpened and thus appear artificial.

In low light, the camera struggles a lot. It produces underexposed pictures where the images lack details. Also, there is a lot of visual noise in night-time pictures.

The phone has a 5MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera can click social-media worth photos and can capture enough details when clicked in proper lighting conditions. In low light, however, the quality drops and little details are captured.

The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has a 3,300 mAh juice pack, which is quite large. The battery delivers as well, lasting for about 14 hours in an H.26 looped video test. It is a capable battery which can last through the day with light use. However, charging takes a lot of time. It takes about 3 hours to go from 0% to 100%.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy J4+ is a decent budget phone. It has a handsome design and wonderful display pairing with it. The few downsides are the dated processor and the lack of USB Type-C port which provides fast-charging technology to the phone. The Galaxy J4+ is a well-designed model which stands out among many of its competitors and establish itself even among pricier models like the S series. However, if you want killer performance, then you could consider Xiaomi Redmi 6.
